A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.
Paris extradited a native of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic to Russia

France extradited Ruslan Botashev, a native of Karachay-Cherkessia, to Russia, accused of terrorist activity. According to Russian investigators, in 2014, the man was trained at the Syrian Muaskar-Sabri militant training camp, and then joined the ranks of the Islamic State organization.
Botashev is accused of participating in the protection and defense of engineering units in Aleppo in 2015, as well as in the defense of the city during the assault by government troops. Botashev was put on the international wanted list in 2016, detained in France in 2018 and is currently being handed over to Russian law enforcement agencies. The Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia confirmed the fact of extradition.
