The Parliament of Ukraine will consider the issue of recognizing the statehood of the Ingush people and condemning the crimes of the Russian Federation

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine submitted for consideration a draft resolution recognizing the right of the Ingush people to self-determination and the creation of an independent national state. In addition, the document condemns the mass deportation of Ingush to the USSR in 1944.
 
The resolution states that in 1944, the USSR authorities liquidated the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and subjected the people inhabiting it to deportation. Ukrainian deputies propose to support the desire of the Ingush to restore their territorial integrity and preserve their national identity.

The document also talks about ethnic clashes between Ossetians and Ingush, mass crimes against the latter by the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. If the resolution is adopted, it will be sent to all members of the international community with an appeal to make a decision in support of the Ingush people.

Let us recall that in 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Chechnya as a territory temporarily occupied by Russia, and also condemned the genocide of the Chechen people.

They are charged with organizing and participating in terrorist activity due to their alleged affiliation with the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia.
