Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that a significant portion of the current opposition in the country is aligned with foreign interests. Many of its representatives, according to the head of government, effectively act as foreign emissaries.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan denied reports from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) that Armenia intends to abandon Russian grain and begin purchasing it from Ukraine.
Earlier, the Russian SVR portal reported that the Armenian authorities, seeking to "disengage" themselves from Russia, were planning to purchase part of their necessary grain reserves from Ukraine.
In response, Pashinyan stated: "This cannot be. For the first time, I am breaking my principle of not commenting on things I haven't read, but I declare that this is absolutely absurd."
According to the SVR publication, due to the higher cost of Ukrainian grain, the European Union, which allegedly initiated this scheme, will be required to compensate the difference and pay Armenia "on an ongoing basis."
