Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that a significant portion of the current opposition in the country is aligned with foreign interests. Many of its representatives, according to the head of government, effectively act as foreign emissaries.
Yerevan and the United States are considering two lease terms for the road through Azerbaijan, known as the "Trump Route" (TRIPP): 49 or 99 years. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at a conference on regional security.
He referred to the initial declaration signed on August 8 in Washington, which specified a 99-year term. The Armenian leader emphasized that the chosen term is determined by the return on investment required to implement the project. He also assured that the negotiations are purely financial and economic in nature.
As part of the project, Armenia and the United States plan to create a joint consortium, in which the parties' representation will depend on the size of their investment. The name of the company will be determined soon.
"The name of the company will also be determined soon. Both countries will be represented on the consortium's board of directors; their ratio will depend on the share of investment," Pashinyan added.
