Pashinyan Arrives in Yekaterinburg for Talks with Mishustin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Russia for a working visit. In Yekaterinburg, he will participate in the "Innoprom-2026" international industrial exhibition and hold talks with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The Armenian government's press service announced the Prime Minister's trip, stating officially that "Pashinyan has departed for a working visit to the Russian Federation."
According to the government, he is scheduled to speak at the "Industrial Industry 360" plenary session, held as part of the "Innoprom-2026" exhibition. Additionally, the visit itinerary includes a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Mishustin.

Expectations regarding Pashinyan's participation in the forum had arisen prior to the official announcement; his name had already been included in the list of speakers for the "Innoprom" exhibition, taking place in Yekaterinburg from July 6 to 9. However, at that time, Yerevan had not confirmed that the head of government would actually travel to Russia.

It is worth noting that the heads of government of both countries held a telephone conversation on July 1. This marked Pashinyan's first publicly known contact with the Russian leadership following Armenia's June parliamentary elections—results of which Russia had publicly characterized as "questionable." Reports indicated that the Armenian side initiated the call.

Furthermore, on July 2, Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia does not seek to create a crisis in its relations with the Russian Federation.

"We have never set ourselves the task, nor will we, nor do we aim to create a crisis in relations with Russia. We act in the interests of our country," he emphasized.
