Georgia's ruling party has initiated amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations and the Code of Administrative Offenses, the discussion and adoption of which will proceed expeditiously. According to the bill, organizers of events at "places where people move" will be required to notify state authorities in advance.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on social networks the need for early elections of the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC). Earlier, he called on all its followers to unite around the demand to replace Catholicos Karekin II. According to Pashinyan, he has evidence of the clergyman violating his vow of celibacy and having a child.
In addition, the prime minister claimed that Russia ordered the AAC to fight the authorities. Allegedly, on Moscow's instructions, representatives of the clergy must make anti-government statements.
Recently, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reported on the prevention of an attempt at terrorism and seizure of power in the country, suspecting the leader of the "Sacred Struggle", Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. He was arrested, as was the Russian businessman, billionaire, head of the Tashir Group of Companies Samvel Karapetyan. The latter had previously publicly stood up for Catholicos Garegin II. Karapetyan was accused of publicly calling for the seizure of power in Armenia.
