Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused his predecessors—former presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan—of concealing the truth about the Karabakh settlement from the Armenian people. At a briefing in Yerevan, the head of the Armenian government noted that all these politicians in opposition to the current government recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan but did not disclose this information to the public.
Observations by the Armenian authorities show that de facto actions or inactions of the CSTO do not correspond to its obligations to the country. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this.
“Why haven’t we made and won’t make a decision to leave the CSTO? We will make a decision based on the state interests of Armenia,” the prime minister noted, answering questions from citizens on social networks.
Previously, Armenia refused to participate in the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, held in Moscow on December 19. On November 30, a representative of the country was not present at the working meeting of participants of the CSTO member countries in Skopje (North Macedonia). On November 23, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ignored the CSTO meeting in Minsk. On November 25, he accused Russian television channels of destabilizing the situation in Armenia.
