Armenia "considers itself outside the CSTO", returning to the organization is no longer possible, the point of no return has been crossed. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a parliamentary session.
"Let them decide what they want. We do not interfere in their affairs and do not declare that we have a de jure veto right here. I think that we have passed the point of no return here," Pashinyan said, drawing attention to the CSTO's non-interference in the war in Karabakh.
According to Pashinyan, in 2021 and 2022, Armenia was subjected to aggression, and Yerevan discussed the situation primarily with its CSTO allies, primarily with Moscow. They said that Armenia's borders are red lines for them.
"But when there was an attempt, we told our partners that the red lines had been crossed. After that, we were told that the border was not delimited. We asked where these red lines were then, where, according to the CSTO, is the border of Armenia? They did not show us anything,” Pashinyan emphasized.
Recently, at a press conference following the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Astana, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the organization should not have fought for Armenia in Karabakh. At the same time, he expressed confidence that Yerevan did not declare a desire to leave the organization and supports all the documents of the summit. The CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) officially includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
