Pashinyan spoke about threats from the CSTO

Armenia has frozen its participation in the pro-Russian CSTO bloc, as it poses threats to the country's security and its continued existence. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Second World Armenian Summit. He noted that Armenia is "close to the point of no return" in its relations with the CSTO.

At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized that Yerevan does not intend to sever economic ties with the Russian Federation and the EAEU. According to him, the country is trying to diversify its economic relations, including by intensifying contacts with the EU and the United States.

It is also reported that the National Security Service of Armenia has uncovered a criminal group that was planning to seize power in the country. Seven people are under arrest. It is noted that this group of people recruited a number of Armenian citizens to undergo three-month training in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

From September 16 to November 14, signatures are being collected in Armenia to submit a draft law on the country's accession to the EU to parliament. At least 50,000 signatures must be collected, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia reported.
