A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

Relations between Baku and Moscow began to deteriorate after the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Russia. This was stated by the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Foreign Policy Hikmet Hajiyev.
"The plane crash occurred on the territory of Russia, in Russian airspace, and we know how it happened - this is no longer a secret," Hajiyev emphasized.
Recently, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced the preparation of an international lawsuit against the Russian authorities due to the lack of any response from Moscow to Azerbaijan's requests on this case for seven months. Earlier, the Azerbaijani publication Minval Politika published a detailed chronology of events related to the alleged destruction of the AZAL plane.
Recall that on December 25, 2024, the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. 38 people died, 29 were saved. The cause of the disaster was shelling from Russian air defense systems during an attack by Ukrainian drones on Chechen territory.
