After appealing to Putin, a mother of nine from Karachay-Cherkessia reported threats from the mayor

Laura Gappoeva, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia and a mother of nine, recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin complaining about the actions of local authorities. In the video, she asks the president to intervene, claiming that the Karachayevsky District administration is violating her family's rights and has failed to address their housing issue for ten years.

"I am contacting you with a request, a complaint. A cry from the heart—I no longer know how to explain it. The essence of our appeal is that our local administration is completely unwilling to help our family. We need housing, which we don't have. We've been struggling with this issue for ten years, but it's been impossible," Gappoeva says.

According to the woman, she had previously repeatedly appealed to officials at various levels, including the head of the Karachayevsky District, Shamil Karayev, and the mayor of Karachayevsk, Spartak Kushchetov.

"We've written to the head of the republic several times, but they've never accepted us. Moreover, our appeals disappear. We've also contacted every minister we could, but to no avail. We've also written to your website ten more times. From there, they send us here, and here they usually summon us and simply sneer. They say, 'What did you expect when you wrote there? No one will help you there,'" she shared.

Shortly after publishing her appeal, Gappoeva posted another video in which she claimed to have faced threats from the mayor of Karachayevsk.

"Because I posted a video asking you to appeal to higher authorities, my family has come under pressure," the woman claims.

According to her, the city mayor arrived at her home, "pulled her husband out of the car," and then began threatening the couple.

"I beg you, please, make this public. This lawlessness must be stopped. How much impunity do you have to feel to come to a defenseless woman and threaten her?" Gappoyeva exclaimed indignantly.

The authorities of Karachay-Cherkessia and the Karachayevsk administration have not publicly commented on these allegations.
