EU Ambassador to Georgia Warns Authorities of Consequences of Dispersing Protests
The level of violence and brutality against protesters in Georgia is deeply concerning. This was stated by EU Ambassador to the country Pawel Gerchinsky.

"The European Union stands with the Georgian people who aspire to a better future and want to see Georgia as a member of the EU. I think that we, in most EU capitals, have reached a point where it is time to act. High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that there will be consequences," Gerchinsky said.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, in turn, made a statement today regarding the future of Georgia. According to him, everyone understood perfectly well that the Georgian leadership did not stop any European integration.

"On the contrary, we are maximally focused on fulfilling the relevant obligations. We can repeat once again that in 4 years, by 2028, we will fulfill more than 90% of our obligations, based on the agenda of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement with the EU,” Kobakhidze said.

Recall that protests in Tbilisi and throughout Georgia began after Irakli Kobakhidze announced a pause on the issue of negotiations on the country's accession to the EU on November 28. According to him, Tbilisi will postpone the issue until the end of 2028, and will join the European Union by 2030.
