Turkey continues to strengthen Azerbaijan's defense capabilities, viewing it as a fraternal state and a key ally in the region. This was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, who emphasized that cooperation is based on the principle of "one people, two states, one army."
Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Yerevan, voiced his opinion on the discussed "transit corridor" between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan, which passes through Armenia.
In an interview with ISCA News, he noted that neither the document signed in Washington nor the peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan mentions a "corridor". The issue only concerns the opening of transport routes, while full control over them remains with the Armenian side, including passport, customs and security aspects.
Sobhani also debunked rumors about a "99-year lease", stressing that the project is being implemented exclusively within the framework of Armenia's internal and external sovereignty. He added that the five principles that Tehran insists on - respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and judicial jurisdiction, as well as reciprocity and invariability of borders - were fully taken into account.
