Flood-affected residents of Dagestan have submitted 215,000 requests for assistance

According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, flood-affected residents of Dagestan have submitted approximately 215,000 requests for assistance. There are 131 damage assessment commissions operating in the republic, which have inspected more than 15,000 households.

As of April 21, 49 residential buildings, 52 garden plots, and three road sections remained flooded in populated areas. Work to restore gas service is ongoing. 546 people, including 169 children, are living in 15 temporary shelters. 447 residents are staying in 13 temporary shelters in Makhachkala.

1,800 people and over 370 pieces of equipment are involved in flood relief efforts.
