According to the Nalchik Garrison Military Court, serviceman Temirkan Bakhov was found guilty of failing to report for duty. He was sentenced to three years and six months in a general regime penal colony.
The international human rights organization Freedom Now has once again drawn attention to the case of Azerbaijani opposition figure Tofig Yagublu, highlighting the rapid deterioration of his health.
The human rights activists recall that in 2025, Yagublu was sentenced to nine years in prison, although the organization believes the charges against him are fabricated. In its report, Freedom Now points to years of political pressure against Yagublu and his previous hunger strikes protesting his unlawful detention.
In this regard, Freedom Now has appealed to the international community to send letters of support to the prisoner. The human rights activists believe that such an information campaign will not only provide moral support to Yagublu but also serve as a signal to the Azerbaijani authorities of continued international attention to his case.
