The chairman of the ruling party of Georgia is leaving his post

At today's briefing in the office of "Georgian Dream", party chairman Irakli Garybashily announced his decision to leave his post. Recently, information has spread on the Internet that he wants to leave the post, but he is not given such an opportunity.

Garybashily has been involved in the party's activities since 2012, that is, he was at its very origins. During this time, he twice held the posts of prime minister of Georgia and chairman of Mechta.

Speaking at the office of the ruling party, Iraklii Garibashvili, speaking at the office of "Georgian Dream", commented on his decision to leave the post of chairman of the ruling party:

"Today I would like to inform you about my decision to leave politics. Speculations regarding my future political activities have not stopped for the past few weeks. Accordingly, I consider myself obliged to society to give comprehensive answers to the questions. Until now, every step of my political life was based on a specific goal - serving our country and people and strengthening our state. Accordingly, my main motivation, as one of the patriots of this country, has always been love for my family and, therefore, my sincere and strong desire to contribute at least one solid brick to the strengthening of our country," Garibashvili commented on his departure from the post.

He concluded that he had "fulfilled his mission" and no longer sees himself as the chairman of "Georgian Dream" or a political figure. At the same time, Garybashvili emphasized that he remains "a faithful soldier of both the team of Mr. Bidzyna Ivanishvili and our country."
