Russia has stated its readiness to consider joining the TRIPP project (the transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan). Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced at a briefing that Moscow is interested in participating and is prepared to offer Russian Railways' expertise for the project's implementation.
All previous constitutional referendums in Armenia did not reflect the will of the people. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. According to him, there should be an "organic connection" between the existing legal order and the people.
Pashinyan recently stated that the new Constitution should not include a reference to the Declaration of Independence. The document mentions the need to reunify Armenia with the Azerbaijani territories in Karabakh. Baku demands that Yerevan exclude such territorial claims from the Constitution in order to conclude a peace treaty. Pashinyan intends to hold a referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution in 2027, and possibly earlier, in parallel with the parliamentary elections in 2026.
In January, the Prime Minister of Armenia published his proposals for achieving peace with Azerbaijan. Among other things, he indicated the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group (which includes Russia) and the conclusion of a peace treaty.
