Georgian Prime Minister allowed improvements in Ukraine and the South Caucasus if Trump wins

Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections will change the West's attitude towards Tbilisi, and the situation in the South Caucasus will become calmer. This is what Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze thinks. According to him, Trump will also bring the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war closer.

“We, of course, will not be able to interfere in anyone’s elections. The only thing that can be said is that if Trump wins, the war in Ukraine will end faster and the situation in the region will calm down, which, in turn, will change the attitude towards Georgia. If there is peace in the region, then the attitude towards Georgia will change,” Kobakhidze shared his forecasts.

The day before, current US leader Joe Biden said that he would not try to be elected to a second term. He supported the candidacy of his vice president, Kamala Harris.

On June 6, the United States imposed visa sanctions against members of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream party, members of parliament, law enforcement officers and their relatives due to the law on foreign agents adopted in the country.
