Georgian Prime Minister: "There are 12 "Natsi" left in parliament
Yesterday, February 5, 49 Georgian oppositionists were officially stripped of their parliamentary mandates. These are representatives of the parties "Unity - National Movement", "Coalition for Change" and "Strong Georgia". They declared the elections held on October 26 last year to be falsified and, in protest, refused to work in parliament, demanding that their powers be terminated.

Another 12 mandates still belong to the opposition party "For Georgia", which was emphasized by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who called its members "Natsi". The latter includes all opposition forces that challenge the legitimacy of the parliamentary elections. Although the representatives of "For Georgia" do not recognize the results of the vote and demonstratively do not take part in the work of parliament, they have not filed an application to terminate the parties' parliamentary powers.

"I believe that there is no place for "Nats" in the parliament, but there are 12 "Nats" left in the parliament. If they submit an application to terminate their mandates, it will be satisfied immediately. Also, the decision to deprive them of their mandates will be made when they miss more than half of the sessions. This is what is needed to restore our democratic political system," Kobakhidze said today.

He also repeated his thesis that Georgia "needs a kind of Nuremberg Trials so that the country does not return to the dark past of the "Nats."

There are now officially only 101 deputies in the Georgian parliament, 89 mandates belong to the ruling party. The political group "People's Power" symbolically emerged from among the "dreamers," presenting itself as a "constructive opposition." Following them, the “multi-party” nature of the parliament was demonstrated by the “European Socialists” – Ilia Indzhia, Varlam Liparteliani and Nika Elisashvili, who entered the parliament as part of the “Georgian Dream”. According to Indzhia, the newly created group will carry out the “mission of a healthy opposition”, that is, “constructively criticize and control the ruling party”.
