Azerbaijani President Accuses Armenia of Delaying Peace Process
Baku sent Yerevan 16 points of the draft peace treaty for approval, and the Armenian side rejected three of them. Azerbaijan had to wait 70 days to receive the final version. Such a primitive and inadequate step was unexpected. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the first meeting of the Milli Majlis of the 7th convocation.

A number of points give reason to believe that Armenia does not really want peace, but wants to drag out time, he added. Aliyev also emphasized that Azerbaijan's main task is to build up its military power.

"Despite the fact that the Second Karabakh War and the anti-terrorist operation are behind us, both the processes taking place in the world, the emergence of new hotbeds of conflict, wars and the escalation of tension around us, and the revanchist tendencies in Armenia force us to constantly pay attention to this area," he noted.

In addition, according to Aliyev, the plans of some Western countries to set Armenia against Azerbaijan are obvious. In this context, he emphasized that Armenia and any country behind it should know that it is "impossible to talk to Azerbaijan in the language of blackmail and ultimatums." Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced Yerevan's readiness to sign 13 agreed articles of the peace treaty, leaving the unagreed parts for the future.
