The President of Georgia called Navalny's death a tragedy for human rights and democracy in the world

The murder of Alexei Navalny would be devastating and tragic for human rights and democracy around the world. This will again prove what kind of regime exists in Russia today. This is the opinion of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, which she shared in an interview with Bloomberg.

The Georgian president also voiced her vision of relations with the European Union. “We are moving forward along the path of an EU candidate. This is largely due to Ukraine, which has shown the importance of European security. In recent years, we and the people of Georgia have done everything possible to advance into the EU,” Zurabishvili noted. She recalled the upcoming parliamentary elections, which will be held in October. According to the President of Georgia, one of their most important results will be support for the country's European orientation.

On February 16, 47-year-old Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny died in correctional colony No. 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. After the walk, he reportedly felt unwell, lost consciousness, and suffered a blood clot. During his imprisonment, the oppositionist was sent to a punishment cell 27 times.
