The President of Georgia expressed surprise by the ruling party’s pro-Russian statement.

The reports of the leaders of the ruling party «Georgian Dream» contradict the pro-European course of Georgia, go in unison with Russia and are defeatist. This was stated by President Salome Zurabishvili.
On the eve of the «Georgian Dream» Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze said that Russia now has an advantage in the war with Ukraine. He also criticizes the authorities of Ukraine for requests for treatment abroad by Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili. Kobakhidze also supported the resumption of air communication between Georgia and Russia.
According to Salome Zurabishvili, such statements are difficult to find explanations. They are also made by MPs from the ruling party. Earlier Zurabishvili actually condemned the court’s refusal to release Mikheil Saakashvili for treatment abroad.
