The exact reason for the charge is not specified. According to journalists, Magomadov, 29, lives in the village of Alpatovo, and worked for the private security company "Alfa-Legion" until at least 2022. The founders of this company are members of the "Alfa" Special Forces Veterans Association.
This is the second documented case of prosecution in Russia for searching for "extremist" content. The first ruling in a similar case was issued on December 10 by a court in Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk Oblast. Sergei Glukhikh was fined 3,000 rubles. Investigators believe he used Google to search for "Azov Brigade" on his phone while on the bus.
