The Southern District Military Court sentenced a 42-year-old resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, who is on the international wanted list, in absentia. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison on terrorism charges.
On the night of September 3, the Rostov Region, along with other Russian regions, was hit by drone attacks. According to Governor Yuri Slyusar, Russian air defense forces destroyed approximately 20 UAVs in Taganrog and seven other districts: Chertkovsky, Neklinovsky, Kuibyshevsky, Millerovsky, Sholokhovsky, Kasharsky, and Azovsky.
In the Sholokhovsky District, a forest caught fire after a drone crashed. The fire covered 0.2 hectares. The fire is being contained, and there are no casualties, according to the governor.
The attack also disrupted railway services. According to the Ukrainian Center for the Study of Occupation, a traction substation at Kuteynikovo station was attacked between midnight and 1:40 a.m. As a result, an electrified section of the railway was without power. Following the incident, passengers and staff were evacuated from the station.
The incident delayed 26 trains. According to a source, they were delayed by at least four hours. Russian sources attributed the evacuation to the discovery of unexploded ordnance. No injuries were reported.
In the Krasnodar Krai, reports of an attack on Sochi emerged this morning. According to the monitoring channel Exilenova+, unmanned boats attacked the port. Local residents reported two loud explosions near the center of Sochi.
Telegram channels also reported that a Russian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system was present at the port. Whether it was the target of the attack is unknown. Patrol boats were also mentioned as possible targets.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 416 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on Thursday. The agency reported downings over 14 regions, the Moscow region, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea.
