Rostov Oblast Attacked by Around 100 Drones

The Rostov Oblast was hit by a massive drone strike on the night of September 8. According to Governor Yuri Slyusar, approximately 100 UAVs were destroyed in ten districts of the region: Sholokhovsky, Kasharsky, Tarasovsky, Myasnikovsky, Kamensky, Millerovsky, Kuybyshevsky, Chertkovsky, Azovsky, and Morozovsky. Local authorities reported no casualties or damage as a result of the overnight attack.

The previous day, strikes had affected Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, where residential buildings were damaged, and at least 33 people reported complete property loss.

Among other Russian regions, Krasnodar Krai and Volgograd Oblast were also attacked on Tuesday night. Local authorities did not report any further strikes. Kyiv also claimed that Russian forces used dozens of missiles overnight, 32 of which were launched from the Volgograd region, and 166 drones. Some of the drones, according to the Ukrainian side, were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar region.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 384 drones were intercepted and destroyed overnight. Attacks were recorded in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Tambov, Oryol, Rostov, Saratov, and Smolensk regions, as well as in the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, and over the Black Sea. One person was killed and four others were injured in the Belgorod region, while ten people were wounded in the Saratov region.

The Ukrainian side, for its part, reported the consequences of the Russian attack in Kyiv: at least two people were killed and at least ten more were wounded.
