Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court has remanded Sapa Media editor-in-chief Alina Dzhikayeva to pretrial detention for two months. She will remain in pretrial detention until June 16. The court's decision followed the investigators' motion for a custodial measure, while the defense insisted on house arrest.
A Russian patient at a Moscow clinic was outraged that a Chechen doctor was seeing her
Video footage from a Moscow clinic has circulated online. In it, the patient complained that the doctor refused to see her because she was 20 minutes late. She stated that she was always late and that Russian doctors saw her. She also asked the doctor about his ethnicity and advised him to live "in his Chechnya."
When asked "What is your ethnicity?" the man politely replied that he was "Chechen."
"What do you think of Russians? I want Russians to work here and treat Russians," the patient said.
The man replied that she could raise the issue at the medical facility, noting that he had the right to work wherever possible. Finally, the woman asked, "Why don't you live in your Chechnya?"
