During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
The North Caucasus republics took the last places in the rating of material security of families, published by RIA Novosti. In them, parents with two children who receive average salaries have nothing at all at their disposal after the minimum expenses at the subsistence level. At the same time, in reality, the minimum expenses of families are higher than the subsistence minimum.

In Chechnya, the figure is -13.9 thousand, in Kabardino-Balkaria - -13.1 thousand, in Dagestan - -5.4 thousand, in Karachay-Cherkessia - -4.8 thousand, in North Ossetia - -1.3 thousand rubles. Stavropol Krai is in 71st place with an indicator of plus 13 thousand.
