The North Caucasus Federal District is the leader in terms of the lowest alcoholism rates in Russia

In 2024, the frequency of primary diagnoses of "alcoholism" and "alcoholic psychosis" in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) was significantly lower than the Russian average. According to the Russian Ministry of Health, the average for Russia was 43.4 cases per 100 thousand residents.

The lowest rates in the NCFD were recorded in Ingushetia (3.8), Dagestan (1) and Chechnya (1). The situation in other regions of the district is as follows: North Ossetia - 31.8, Stavropol Krai - 27.3, Kabardino-Balkaria - 22.3, Karachay-Cherkessia - 11.7.

The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is the leader in the all-Russian alcoholism incidence rating (247.8 per 100 thousand residents). The top five also included the Mari El Republic (222.6), the Jewish Autonomous Region (197.5), the Kirov Region (161.5), and the Arkhangelsk Region (134.2).
