The capital of Chechnya is among the leaders among large Russian cities in housing construction

In 2025, Grozny ranked fourth among 100 large Russian cities in terms of new housing construction. According to official statistics, the Chechen capital had 1,773 square meters of new housing per capita. This is the best result among all regions of the North Caucasus.

As for other cities in the North Caucasus Federal District, Cherkessk ranked 8th with 1,216 square meters per capita, Stavropol 13th (1,123 square meters), Nalchik 23rd (0,924 square meters), Vladikavkaz 26th (0,889 square meters), and Makhachkala 52nd (0,578 square meters).

Kyzyl, Krasnodar, and Tyumen topped the overall rankings, with per capita housing completions exceeding 1.98 square meters. Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and Murmansk performed the least well, with a mere 0.1 square meters per capita.

The total volume of housing completions in Russia in 2025 amounted to 108.1 million square meters, a 0.3% increase from the previous year. However, according to expert estimates, cities have been experiencing a two-year decline in construction. In 2025, the volume of housing completions in the 100 largest cities was 0.9% lower than the previous year.
