The court did not satisfy the request to transfer Ibadoglu to house arrest

The court in Baku did not satisfy the petition of the defense to transfer the leader of the Azerbaijan Democracy Party Gubad Ibadoglu to house arrest, filed in connection with his state of health. The reason for the refusal was that the medical documents of the arrested person were not handed over from the pre-trial detention center. His brother Galib Bayramov told journalists about this, the "Caucasian Knot" reports.

"The petition stated that Gubad's health does not allow him to be kept in a prison cell. The conditions there are already difficult - very crowded, the room is not ventilated, there are no proper sanitary conditions. And people like Gubad - with serious cardiovascular diseases, an acute form of diabetes mellitus, goiter of the thyroid gland - it is generally contraindicated to stay in such conditions. He needs a mobile lifestyle, frequent exposure to fresh air. Another problem is that we are not given the results of analyzes and examinations made in the pre-trial detention center, and at that At the same time, the doctors we have attracted to Gubad are not allowed to prescribe a new treatment for him, taking into account the aggravation of his health problems," brother Ibadoglu said. According to him, the court was supposed to consider the petition on September 1, but due to the lack of documents, the hearing was postponed for a day. Thus, yesterday the prisoner was taken to court in a stuffy paddy wagon on a hot day in vain. On the way back, Gubad became ill.

Recall, Azerbaijani politician, scientist-economist Gubad Ibadoglu was arrested on charges of making counterfeit money. On the day of his arrest, a search was conducted at his place of residence, during which banknotes in the amount of 40 thousand dollars were found. On August 25, Ibadoglu was charged with making, storing or distributing extremist materials. The defendant rejects the prosecution's arguments.

The detention and arrest of Gubad Ibadoglu caused a wide resonance in the world. Human rights activists believe that the scientist is being persecuted for political reasons.
