Tajikistan has demanded that Russia investigate the ethnically motivated murder of a Tajik boy

The Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan following the murder of fourth-grader Kobiljon Aliyev in the Moscow region. Dushanbe handed over a note demanding an immediate and objective investigation and the prosecution of those responsible.

The Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it strongly condemns the attack, which was motivated by ethnic hatred.

"We express our condolences with sorrow to the family and friends of the minor citizen of Tajikistan," the ministry's website states.

On December 16, a 15-year-old terrorist attacked a security guard and a fourth-grade student with a knife at a school in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. The 10-year-old Tajik child died at the scene, and the security guard was taken to the hospital with injuries. Before the brutal attack, the killer reportedly asked the boy, "What is your nationality?"

The detained teenager admitted his guilt, and a criminal case has been opened.
