Tbilisi denied entry to an American NGO development consultant

American Megga Osdoba Katz, known as an NGO development consultant and ex-OSCE representative, and in Georgia also as a yoga teacher, was not allowed to enter the country without explanation. On Facebook, she wrote that in the questionnaire, they simply marked the column "other" as the reason.

"The last ticket was with a class upgrade, and now I was "thrown out" in the last row and in the opposite direction. Georgia refused me entry. No questions asked. Unexplained. 27 years of life, visits and support of my beloved country, which has become my home. My heart is broken. I will write more as soon as I understand where they are taking me and where my luggage is," the NGO development consultant was quoted as saying by a local publication.

Meggi Osdoba Kats works with startups, organizations and activists, including Georgian ones, implementing positive social changes. She has 25 years of experience and cooperation with the US State Department, the World Bank, the National Bank of Georgia and a number of international organizations, including CRRC, OSCE, Danish Refugee Council.
