Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan warned against the current government's flippant attitude toward possible harsh responses from Moscow. He believes the authorities fail to grasp the scale of the potential impact Russia could have, including tariff revisions and export blockages.
Georgia accused the European Union of disrupting planned human rights talks. Tbilisi stated that the EU canceled a meeting scheduled for November 21 in Brussels shortly before it was scheduled.
The Georgian side expressed its willingness to provide the EU with detailed information on issues of interest, but, according to the Foreign Ministry, the meeting was postponed for "unacceptable and unjustified reasons." Georgia believes the EU is unwilling to listen to Georgia's arguments.
"The Georgian side viewed the meeting as an opportunity to engage with the EU, including on topics on which our society often hears criticism from Brussels. It appears that Brussels is unwilling to listen to the reasonable positions of the Georgian side," the diplomatic ministry said in a statement.
