Construction of houses for people left homeless by the natural disaster that struck the republic in late March has already begun in Chechnya. Work is underway in the village of Novy Benoy in the Gudermes District, where individual houses are already being erected, while foundations are being poured in other areas, and necessary utilities are being installed.
The FSB Directorate for Adygea announced the opening of a criminal case against a 20-year-old native of Dagestan. He is suspected of recruiting for a terrorist organization (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code).
According to investigators, the suspect knew a resident of the village of Novaya Adygeya, who was allegedly planning a terrorist attack at the MEGA Adygeya-Kuban shopping center. Law enforcement officials claim the young man met young people from the Islamic community in the Takhtamukaysky District, disseminated propaganda among them for a terrorist organization banned in Russia, and urged them to commit terrorist attacks.
No further details of the case have been provided. The measure of restraint chosen for the suspect has also not been reported. No announcement has been made regarding the prevention of a terrorist attack at the shopping center.
