A native of Dagestan has been accused of recruiting for terrorist attacks in Adygea

The FSB Directorate for Adygea announced the opening of a criminal case against a 20-year-old native of Dagestan. He is suspected of recruiting for a terrorist organization (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to investigators, the suspect knew a resident of the village of Novaya Adygeya, who was allegedly planning a terrorist attack at the MEGA Adygeya-Kuban shopping center. Law enforcement officials claim the young man met young people from the Islamic community in the Takhtamukaysky District, disseminated propaganda among them for a terrorist organization banned in Russia, and urged them to commit terrorist attacks.

No further details of the case have been provided. The measure of restraint chosen for the suspect has also not been reported. No announcement has been made regarding the prevention of a terrorist attack at the shopping center.
