A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

In 2022, Adilkhan Amambayev, a native of Dagestan, who was sentenced to 9 years, said that the criminal case against him had been falsified and that he had been tortured. The man was accused of having used correspondence in a messenger to persuade a friend to join a banned ISIS organization and carry out a terrorist act.
In his cassation appeal, Amambayev stated that the correspondence in his mobile phone had been falsified by law enforcement officials. According to him, the security forces had free access to the phone during the seizure. Moreover, he made a confession after torture. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation considered the sentence lawful, and attributed the traces of torture to the use of force allegedly when Amambayev tried to escape.
