The United Kingdom has declared its readiness to counter attempts by Russia and other external forces to interfere in Armenia's electoral process. Minister of State Lio Doughty emphasized that London is committed to supporting electoral integrity and the security of the information environment during elections.
The collection of signatures to initiate a referendum on Armenia's accession to the EU has been completed. Instead of the required 50 thousand signatures, 60 thousand have been collected. They will be transferred to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, which, after appropriate checks, will send them to the country's parliament for consideration.
Recall that if the parliament rejects the bill on holding a referendum on the issue of European integration, the initiative will have to collect 300 thousand signatures in 60 days to return the issue to the agenda.
A working group on visa liberalization with the EU has also been created in Armenia. The group was formed under the interdepartmental commission responsible for the implementation of agreements between Armenia and the European Union. The composition includes deputies and deputy heads of a number of ministries.
