The US House Committee on Foreign Affairs supported the call for Azerbaijan to immediately release Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees. According to Armenpress, citing the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), 44 committee members supported the initiative, with seven voting against.
Former Golos coordinator wanted by Russia released in Armenia
Vladimir Zhilinsky, former coordinator of the Golos voters' rights movement, who was detained in Armenia, has been released. The arrest was related to the activist's status as a wanted activist in Russia.
Zhilinsky had previously arrived in Armenia from Georgia. He was placed in a temporary detention facility. In Russia, he has the status of a "foreign agent." Criminal cases have been opened against him: one for violating the regulations governing the activities of a "foreign agent" (January 2024), and another under the justification of terrorism (Part 2, Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code) for publications on the Pskovskaya Gubernia Telegram channel.
