Official statistics of those killed in the Karabakh war were announced in Armenia

223 people, including 25 civilians, died during Azerbaijan's September invasion of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reported this.

In addition, 244 people were injured during the fighting, about 80 of them were civilians. Another 20 people are listed as missing, and 17 were captured. About 70 Karabakh Armenians died on the way to Armenia during the deportation.

At the end of December, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused the Russian Federation of inaction. According to him, the Russian peacekeeping contingent, within the framework of its obligations, did not protect the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Let us recall that on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan launched an “anti-terrorist operation” in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. As a result, the region became part of Azerbaijan and the majority of the Armenian population – over 100 thousand people – left it.
