Armenia is looking forward to the start of negotiations on visa liberalization with the European Union within the framework of the Enhanced Partnership Agreement. This was announced by the speaker of the country's parliament Alen Simonyan.
Earlier, Simonyan said that Armenia is ready to become a candidate for EU membership. “We are ready, definitely... According to our indicators, we have a higher level of democracy than some EU countries. We should think in this direction, but we don’t need to rush and take drastic steps,” he said.
On March 13, the European Parliament adopted a resolution in which it approved Armenia’s desire to become a candidate for EU membership. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reacted to this, saying that the resolution should be the subject of broad public discussions in the country, and expressed satisfaction with the decision of the European deputies.
