Protesters are detained again in Armenia

Another protest action against the demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is taking place in Yerevan. Three participants were detained on Republic Square.

A police cordon cordoned off the government building, where protesters led by movement organizer Bagrat Galstanyan began to gather. MP Garnik Danielyan spoke at the rally: “We do not agree with the government’s decisions and have gathered here to express our disagreement. The authorities are acting against the interests of Armenia, signing documents and surrendering Armenian settlements to Azerbaijan.”

Today, at a government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the signing by Armenia and Azerbaijan of the protocol-description on delimitation in the Tavush region a great success.

“For the first time in the history of independence, Armenia has an officially delimited border, which will significantly increase the level of security and stability not only in this section, but along the entire perimeter of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” Pashinyan said.
