New protests against the government took place in Armenia

Participants in the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement, led by its leader Bagrat Galstanyan, spent the entire night outside the parliament building in Yerevan. They set up about 15 tents. The police detained two citizens who were later released.

Galstanyan again called for actions of disobedience to begin throughout the country. The protest movement has announced four days of continuous street actions and strikes starting today.

“Without resting, we must be on the street to dictate our will. Our demand remains resignation, but other political decisions that were discussed in the square are not excluded and are subject to discussion,” Galstanyan said.

The reason for the demonstrations that began in May was the decision of the authorities to delimitate the borders with Azerbaijan - Yerevan must give four settlements to Baku. Protesters are demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the dissolution of the government.
