On December 11, a protest took place in front of the Armenian Embassy in Moscow. Participants demanded that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was attending a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union Council, release persecuted clergy.
The Azerbaijan Press Council condemned Russian propagandist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov for attempting to link Azerbaijan with the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall. He previously said that one of the attackers, alleged terrorists, had an “Azerbaijani surname.”
“Soloviev’s statements, aimed at finding an Azerbaijani trace in this terrorist attack, go beyond the traditional biased rhetoric of this person against our country. Soloviev, with his hints, is conducting an information provocation against Azerbaijan. His attempt to look for traces of Azerbaijan in the terror of Crocus City Hall stems from his pro-Armenian fanaticism,” the Azerbaijan Press Council said in a statement.
The terrorist attack at Crocus became the second largest in Russia in terms of the number of victims after Beslan. At least 137 people died. March 24 was a day of mourning for the victims in the Russian Federation.
