In Azerbaijan, they reacted to the insults of the president by a Russian public figure
Vladimir Karasev, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, called the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, "offended" and a "scumbag". This happened after the head of state accused the Russian authorities of the crash of the Embraer passenger plane.

Karasev published the news with Aliyev's statement in his Telegram channel with the caption "And about pidas...sah". Later, the user under the nickname Erich Hauser condemned the author for the insults and asked him to "discuss with dignity", to which he replied: "Russian vodka is brought to offended non-brothers."

Vladimir Karasev is a political commentator, a frequent guest of state TV shows and a member of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Subjects. The head of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Amin Mamedov reacted to the words of the Russian politician.

"Unfortunately, in modern Russia, the practice is becoming more and more common when people with a high social status allow rude and insulting rhetoric," Mamedov said.

He called Karasev's statements insulting and predicted that if he does not face the consequences, the level of the Public Chamber will show.

Recently, Ilham Aliyev met with the relatives of the dead crew members and the surviving flight attendants of the Embraer plane of the AZAL airline. On December 25, 2024, the liner followed the Baku–Grozny route and crashed in Aktau (Kazakhstan). There are no official results of the investigation yet, but the dominant version is that the plane was shot down by anti-aircraft missiles in the airspace of the Russian Federation.

"Attempts of Russian state bodies to cover up the incident and defend ridiculous versions cause surprise, regret and righteous indignation. The blame for the fact that Azerbaijani citizens died in this disaster lies with the representatives of Russia. And we demand justice, punishment of the guilty, full transparency and human behavior," Aliyev said.
