Baku calls for arms supplies to Ukraine after attacks on Azerbaijani energy sector

After new Russian strikes on facilities of the Azerbaijani energy company SOCAR located in Ukraine, calls for more decisive actions than just statements are being heard in Baku.

In particular, Milli Majlis deputy Rasim Musabekov called for arms supplies to Ukraine. Political scientist Farhad Mammadov noted that repeated strikes could force Baku to lift restrictions on arms supplies to Kyiv, but at the same time warned of possible negative consequences for Azerbaijanis in Russia - from xenophobic campaigns to repression by law enforcement agencies.

Earlier, the presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine Ilham Aliyev and Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the Russian strikes.

Recall that on the night of August 18, as a result of a massive attack by Russian drones, an oil depot of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR, located in the Odessa region of Ukraine, was seriously damaged. This is the second attack on this facility within a month.
