Georgian volunteer killed in battle on Ukrainian side
Georgian citizen Badri Kvaratskhelia was killed in battles in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. He fought on the Ukrainian side as part of the Georgian Legion.

The Georgian Legion recently issued a statement in which it emphasized that it does not intend to participate in political protests in Georgia. The volunteer unit fighting in Ukraine denied the rumors about the possible transfer of fighters to their homeland.

“Recently, Russian propaganda has begun to spread false claims that the Georgian Legion plans to return to Georgia and take part in protests. We categorically deny these unfounded accusations. We fully support the justified indignation of the Georgian people over the decision of the Georgian government to suspend progress towards EU membership, but our fight remains here in Ukraine, where our common enemy is,” the statement noted.

The "Georgian Legion" has been recognized as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation, and it has been decided to try captured members of the formation as mercenaries and terrorists.
