Budapest to host Georgian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission meeting

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has arrived in Budapest on an official visit. This was reported by the Prime Minister's press service.

It is reported that Kobakhidze will hold one-on-one talks with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban. Then, there will be meetings of the delegations of the two countries in an expanded format and the second meeting of the Georgian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission. The visit of the Georgian delegation to Hungary will last until June 12.

The signing of cooperation agreements in agriculture, energy, culture and sports has been announced. A joint press conference of Kobakhidze and Orban is also expected following the meeting of the IPC.

The ruling party of Georgia considers Hungary its main friend in Europe. It is noteworthy that the Hungarian prime minister was the first to congratulate the Georgian Dream on its victory in the parliamentary elections, without even waiting for the official results. He also became the first foreign leader to visit Georgia after the elections, but the authorities of 13 European countries said that Orban was not representing the EU on this visit. It is known that Kobakhidze and Orban meet almost every month.
