Three teenagers in Chechnya have been held by police for seven months

Three teenagers have been held in police department No. 2 of the Grozny Department of Internal Affairs for more than six months. No criminal case has been opened against them, and, accordingly, there is no court decision on their arrest, the Memorial Human Rights Center reported.

The detainees are 16-year-old Said Idigov, Elbrus Saidaev, and Mansur Shabazov. According to human rights activists, in December 2024, police officers stopped the boys on Abdullah bin Talal Al-Hussein Street, pushed them into a car, and drove them away in an unknown direction. They are still in police custody; relatives and lawyers are not allowed to see them, and no charges have been brought, Memorial noted.
