After the recent terrorist attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent, security forces detained three men. One of them is a resident of Makhachkala, two are from the village of Sergokala. According to investigators, they were found with grenades, rifles and explosive devices and were planning explosions and arson.

On the evening of June 23, militants attacked Orthodox churches and synagogues in Derbent and Makhachkala. 18 police officers, five civilians and five attackers were killed. Three of the attackers are the sons and nephew of Magomed Omarov, head of the Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan. All three were killed by law enforcement officers.
