Other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District also ranked low: Karachay-Cherkessia ranked 83rd, Chechnya 77th, and North Ossetia 71st. The situation is better in Kabardino-Balkaria (66th) and Dagestan (57th).

The main criterion for ranking the regions was the ratio of the median monthly per capita income to the cost of a standard set of goods and services typical for each region.
The share of the population living below the poverty line in Ingushetia at the end of last year was 24.3%. In Karachay-Cherkessia, this figure was 15.3%, in Stavropol Krai – 8.7%, in Chechnya – 13.8%, in North Ossetia – 8.9%, in Kabardino-Balkaria – 10.2%, and in Dagestan – 10.9%. Nationwide, 6.7% of the population lived below the poverty line in 2025.
The Nenets Autonomous Okrug led the ranking, demonstrating the highest ratio of median income to the cost of a fixed basket of goods and services. The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug came in second, and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug came in third. The Magadan Region and Moscow also made it into the top five.
