Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, announced that the European Union is making the imposition of sanctions against Russia a condition for maintaining the country's visa-free status. According to him, Brussels is insisting that Tbilisi join the anti-Russian sanctions.
Two EMERCOM employees were killed in Grozny when a car drove into a fire station at high speed. Five more people were injured, the department's press service reported.
The incident occurred this morning at Fire and Rescue Station No. 2 during the shift changeover. The deaths included the station commander, Senior Sergeant of the Internal Service Umar Dishniyev, and Senior Fire Sergeant Movsar Avduyev. Three others were hospitalized.
Umar Dishniyev was 22 years old and had served in the EMERCOM since 2023. Movsar Avduyev, 33, had been with the department since 2020.

Their colleagues describe them as honest and compassionate colleagues who were ready to help at any moment. The deceased firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are credited with extinguishing numerous fires, dealing with the aftermath of incidents, and saving lives.
